About Me
I am Macaulay Szymanski, and my role is working sound and music for Film and Interactive Media where the goal is to help create a more complete and immersive environment in emotional space on the screen, as well as in the ears of the audience.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and as of May 2016 graduated with a degree in Film Scoring and a minor in Video Game Scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. My instrumental skills lead me to say that my main instrument is guitar with a lot of dabbling in keyboard and various wind instruments. Some teachers that I've had the pleasure taking in my studies are Richard Davis and Eric Reasoner of the Film Scoring Department, Michael Sweet of the Video Game Scoring Department, Andrew Carballeira teaching Acoustics, and my primary private instructor for guitar Scott Tarruli. In my years of Berklee I've had the pleasure to perform in the Contemporary Middle Eastern Ensemble, and the Gypsy Jazz Ensemble whereas each expanded my writing and playing skills.
Within the past year, I have had the opportunity to perform at Boston symphony hall for "Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses" in Feb 2015, and again for "the Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds in April 2015" as a vocalist with the Orchestra under the leadership of Arnie Roth.
I aim to continue working in music, scoring films and games, helping to create a more complete experience for the creative work as a whole.
